The main character is in an unrequited love relationship similar to the happysad dude. Eventually, he finds out that a one sided love is meaningless. So in other words, they are both equally important. Love that is unreturned is painful and excruciating. Likewise, being selfish and greedy by withholding your love also deteriorates one soul.
