Hi everyone!
Since I’ve noticed I’m still getting between 1000 and 2000 visitors a day, I thought it would be nice to let you know I’m still alive and well. That’s the good news. As for the future of Happysad, I’m afraid I’m still no step further than three weeks ago. Still very much in doubt… One thing I’ve come to realize in the meanwhile though: maybe, just maybe, the last three years of my life haven’t been a total waste. Because at least I have created something which no one can take away from me anymore. Which is nice 
Anyway, next week I will be having a real break – two weeks holiday, and two more weeks in September. Even more time to think & get inspired. Yeay!

Your comics have parodies a lot of lives over the past three years, and mine in particular. Though not a painter, a silent observer seems to make a lot of the same observations. Three years or not, you have found a way to come to terms with some of the pain you feel, and you have my respect about that.

I read between the lines that Happysad has run it’s happysad course. It’s a happysad ending, and I think it’s appropriate.
Though for me the style of your cartoons – the artistic style… no hands, no feet etc. is awesome (also the happysad nature of it – even just going at the end of the comic – that is SO TRUE is also adding to it). Maybe start a new comic… kartoen.be is not related to the name of Happysad, and you can start a new comic running different characters. (maybe not so closely linked to your personal life)

You need a short comeback just to create (some sort of) a happy-end for the little guy. He fully deserves it. Maybe he meets someone new who loves him or something?
Take the time you need for inspiration to come. And then, come back! =)

You’ve touched a lot of people, Jeroen. Me included. Even if you decide to never do another HappySad cartoon again, it’ll definitely worth remembering and I’m sure will be remembered. Take your to rejuvenate. Don’t worry, it’ll keep on growing.
I do think you need to have a much better gallery, though. Add tags, etc. So many good cartoons, but they’re a little hard to find and reference.
